Dear Visitor, welcome to this latest edition of our newsletter.
FUNDING FOR NO. 37
New Life Baptists sort out the final details on 37 Abbey Road with the landlord and Tiffin next door, we are also looking forward to fitting the place out so that we can begin to use it.
This will take some time and effort as there are building works to do (electrical fittings, a toilet area and creating a prayer room) as well as sorting out all the furniture.
We will be applying for grants and for some of these we need help.
The Aviva Community Fund have lots of potential projects and they way they choose which ones to support is through an online vote. So please go to Aviva Community Fund - 37 Abbey Road and register and cast your votes – BEFORE 30th May (2 days time!) when voting closes.
• A community space, • open to all, • promoting physical health and mental well-being, • for people to attend and lead courses of all sorts (what is your hobby?), • for after school activities for children and youth, • An extension to Tiffin at the weekends (Friday, Saturday and Sunday).
CHURCH CELEBRATES WITH FLOWERS
The Methodist churches of the Rushcliffe area are getting together to hold a Flower Festival over the weekend of Friday 3rd – Sunday 5th July at West Bridgford Methodist Church on Musters Road.
This colourful event will be a joyful celebration of life, entitled ‘What a Wonderful World’, with over 20 elaborate flower arrangements, some interpreting the well-known song, and others representing the rhythm of the seasons or the variety of different world regions.
In addition to the displays there will be stalls selling a wide selection of produce and plants. Refreshments, including lunches and teas, will be available during the opening times:
• 10.00 am - 7.00 pm on Friday, • 10.00 am - 6.00 pm on Saturday • 12.00 pm - 6.00 pm on Sunday.
This is sure to be a delight for everyone who enjoys flowers, so you should book the date in your diary and plan to bring along your family and friends. Children welcome. Full disabled access.
We think its a great way to engage with folks, especially during the summer months, about the wonderful world which God has given us!
CHURCH PLANTING IN COTGRAVE
At the beginning of this year The Rock Church announced news that they were planting the first of three Churches (as part of their 10 year vision). The new church being in Cotgrave.
As part of the preparation for the launch in November, we have been in positive talks with Candleby Lane School about holding Sunday morning services at their site. We have also talked about potentially partnering with the school on projects - both within the school and the community.
Please pray that all our other preparations go to plan and that finances, people and strategy all come together. Thank you.
